Principal's Corner

Hello Parents and Community,

This will be a shorter newsletter since this is a busy week! If you look at the calendar you will see that we have a lot of athletic events this week on top of it being Homecoming! We are excited to welcome back alumni this week and hope that they have a great week with us!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to the game on Friday night and supported Rowan Bronfield and his family. I am proud to be part of a community that looks after each other! As a community, over $20,000 was raised to support Rowan and his family as he continues to battle cancer. Thank you for all you do!

I also wanted to make special mention that we recognized Caden Joy earlier this month for being named a National Merit Semifinalist! This puts him in the top 1% of high school seniors in the nation! Good luck to him as he continues to compete to be a National Merit Finalist. Congratulations Caden!

As a reminder, we will not have a bonfire this year due to the burn ban. The Homecoming Parade will begin at 6:30pm where it will leave the high school, go down Calaveras to Cypress, then to Elm, and will end at the downtown square. The Homecoming Community Pep Rally will begin at 7pm at the steps to the Courthouse. Thank to the Athletic Booster Club, the City of Graham, and Young County for working together to make this happen!

I look forward to a great Homecoming week ahead!

Pep Rally Information

We have our second pep rally this week; the theme is Texas! The other themes and dates are found below:

9/25 (HOCO): Mums and Cowboy attire

10/23 (Pink Out)

11/6 (Senior Night-Red, White, and Blue)

Like last year, ALL non-GHS staff and students must register for the Pep Rally.

Here is the Pep Rally Process:

Competition Gym Doors will open for the community and parents at 12:45pm on Friday. Pep Rally starts at 1:25.
On Pep Rally Day, Parents and Community Members who have pre-enrolled will enter through the gym doors and will receive their pre-printed badge.
If you did not enroll before Friday at 8am, you may enter through the gym doors and still must sign in.
Parents and Community Members will sit in the reserved area on the home side section closest to the gym doors. When the space fills, parents and community members will be directed to the upper section.

Brew Crew

Exciting news! The Brew Crew Store is open for business! We will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can stop by the Brew Crew Store to fill out an order form, or you can order straight from the website. The location is across the hall from room 100. Look for the BREW CREW sign

Class of 2028 Parent Meeting

The Class of 2028 will have a meeting on October 5th at 5:15pm in the high school library to begin discussing prom plans.

Yearbook Cover Design Contest

Attention Students:

The yearbook staff would like to invite the students of Graham High School to design a cover for our 2026-2027 yearbook. The winning entry will appear on the yearbook cover!

The 2026-2027 yearbook theme: Insta-Graham (social media) and is a celebration of the year gone by and an invitation to join in on the fun. It’s about bringing together all of the students at GHS to memorialize the year that we have all experienced in different ways.

Perfect Attendance Winners

Every week, Graham High School will be randomly selecting students who had perfect attendance from the prior week. They will be awarded with a coupon from our local Whataburger, Sonic, or Dairy Queen. Thank you to these local businesses for recognizing the importance of daily attendance at school and rewarding our students!

This past week, our perfect attendance award winners for the week of September 7th are Sophia Shaffer, Analia Herrera, and Grant Gardiner. Congratulations!

🌸Steers and Lady Blooms - Fall Subscription

Our Advanced Floral Design students will be creating unique, seasonal arrangements for the months of September, October, November, and December.

If you are interested in receiving one arrangement each month, please complete this form. The total cost for the four-month subscription is $150.

GISD Bond 2026

The Board of Trustees called a Nov. 3 bond election for $60 million to address facility needs identified and recommended by the Facility Planning Committee. The $60 million proposal includes construction of a new (grades 1-5) elementary school to replace Crestview and Woodland, as well as safety, security, accessibility and CTE projects at the remaining campuses. To keep our employees, families and Graham community informed, the district has launched a Bond2026 website.
