Adam Anderson, Principal of Graham High School

Principal's Corner

Hello Parents and Community,

It amazes me that we are already on the first day of March! This school year is flying by and there is a lot happening on our campus and with our students until then!

I first want to congratulate our Steers basketball team this weekend on a job well done. They competed and played hard Friday night against a good Burkburnett team. It is sad to see the season end but I am excited for the great things coming in this program. Huge thank you to Coach Fossett and all the time he put into this program.

It seems like every day we have something going on. Please keep an eye on the calendar and the events we will continue to post and add to the calendar. We have an advanced academics night planned for March 23rd and another meeting on March 24th.

Thank you for your continued support of all of our wonderful staff and students.

Respectfully,

Adam Anderson
Principal

What's Happening at GHS...

Student Safety in the Bus and Student Pickup

We have seen an increased number of students and parents driving around the buses while they are actively loading or unloading in the afternoon. PLEASE help protect GISD students by following state law and not passing buses while they have their lights flashing and "Stop" sign out.

Student Scheduling

Counselors have started meeting with students to discuss schedules for next year. As they meet, they are discussing course options based on every student's future goals and academic history. After they meet, students should be coming home with their course selection to be signed by you as the parent. We want parents to be actively involved in their student's courses for next year and this is a way for us to make sure that you are in agreement of the courses they have selected. I have attached the papers our counselors are using in discussions with your student to this email.

Please know that this does not mean that your student cannot change their mind and select different courses. We understand that students will change their minds. Meeting with students now helps guide our decisions on the number of sections to offer of each course and helps guide staffing decisions for next year.

GHS Art Students Compete at Regional VASE

This past weekend, Mrs. Andrews took 12 art students to the Regional Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE). All of our students medalled and we have 2 students going to state! Good luck to Kate Hufstedler and Sophia Purdy! Congratulations to all of our students!

✨ Happening THIS WEEK: The Glass Slipper Prom Boutique Event!

Prom season is just around the corner, and we believe every student should have the chance to celebrate this milestone without the stress of a price tag.

For the past 15 years, the Glass Slipper Project has had the honor of providing prom dresses and accessories to students in our community. Our mission is simple: to ensure that the cost of formal wear never stands in the way of a student making lifelong memories at prom.

👗 What’s New This Year?
In the past, we’ve shared our resources through school announcements. This year, we are thrilled to announce a brand-new experience! We are hosting a four-day prom dress shopping event right here in Graham.

Students are invited to browse a beautiful selection of dresses and accessories in a boutique-style setting—all at no cost.

📅 Event Details
  • Location: First United Methodist Church, Graham
  • When: March 4th-7th
  • Who: All Junior and Senior girls
