Adam Anderson, Principal of Graham High School

Principal's Corner

Hello Parents and Community,

As we conclude this semester and prepare to head into the winter break, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and share my deepest gratitude for each of you. Serving as your principal is a privilege, and I am constantly reminded of how fortunate we are to have such a dedicated staff, hard-working students, and a supportive community.

I hope that over the next two weeks, you are able to enjoy a relaxing Christmas break. In a world that often feels busy and uncertain, I hope you find peace and comfort by spending quality time with those you love and who are most important to you. For those of you who will be traveling during the holidays, I wish you safe and smooth journeys.

Please keep an eye out for another message from me before the second semester begins, where I will share updates and preparations for the months ahead.

On behalf of Graham High School and my family, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.

Respectfully,

Adam Anderson
Principal

What's Happening at GHS...

New GHS English Teacher

Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Hannah Ramirez to our GHS family. Starting in January, she will be taking over the position left open from Mrs. Carpentier retiring. Here is a little about her:

"I recently moved to Graham after living in El Paso but I originally grew up in Springdale, Arkansas. I earned my undergraduate degree from Henderson State University, where I also played collegiate softball. I later completed my Masters at UTEP while in El Paso.

Over the past 9 years, I have taught both Social Studies and English and have coached a variety of sports. I’m excited to support and encourage students both in and out of the classroom!

Outside of school, my husband and I are already very involved in the community, he serves as the student pastor at Oak Street Baptist Church where we work with students, young adults, and families. But mostly I just enjoying spending time with my two boys, Maccabees and Melchiah!"

GISD Fine Arts Showcase

Thursday evening was our GISD Fine Arts Showcase and it was AMAZING! Our students showed off their art work, theater put on an amazing, and funny, performance, and the GJHS and GHS bands sounded incredible. Huge shoutout to the hard work of all of our amazing students in getting for this show. Thank you Josh Kidd, Christie Andrews, Kay Berru, Dax Freeman, Hugh Grubbs, and Brenda Smith for all of your hard work and time you are putting into our students.

Steer-ing at our DNA

Students in Biology built DNA models with candy. Students had to correctly pair nucleotide bases, represented by the colored marshmallows, when constructing their "sweet" DNA models. Students also took that knowledge to create the DNA double helix model with magnets representing the 4 different nucleotide bases.

New Email for Attendance Notes

Because we have had several staff changes before school started, we are trying to simplify the process for who to send notes to if you are choosing to email them.

Any note that you are submitting can be emailed to: ghsattendance@grahamisd.com. We will continue to accept Parentsquare messages as well.

Attendance Notes Reminder

As a reminder, parent notes are only accepted for 14 days after an absence has occurred. After that, they will not be accepted and the absence will stay unexcused. This only applies to parent notes, not notes from doctors. Doctors notes will be accepted at anytime during the year, but the sooner we get them the better.

Senior Ads

All senior ads must be received no later than January 6th, 2026.

Thanks for helping support the GHS yearbook staff, and don’t hesitate to call or e-mail mckenzie.shook@grahamisd.com if you have questions. The yearbook is scheduled to be delivered at the end of May.

Please see the attached Google Doc for additional information.
