Steers Family Newsletter

November 30, 2025
Adam Anderson, Principal of Graham High School

Principal's Corner

Hello Parents and Community,

I hope this message finds you well and that you had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break with your loved ones. As we settle back into our routines, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude.

It is truly an honor to serve as the Principal of Graham High School. I am incredibly thankful for the dedication of our exceptional staff, the spirit and enthusiasm of our students, and the unwavering support of this community. On a personal note, I feel especially grateful to be raising my own family here. Your commitment to our school and to one another is what makes Graham a truly special place.

I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with 16 students as part of my Principal's Advisory Council right before the break. I am amazed at their insight, input, and ability to collaborate. I will continue to meet with them throughout the year to receive student input and ideas on improving our campus.

As we move toward the Christmas break, our campus is buzzing with activity, so please be sure to check the calendar of events in the newsletter. I have included all events until our return in January.
  • Athletics: Our basketball season is in full swing, and we are excited to see soccer starting up. There are many opportunities to come out and cheer on our Steers!
  • Finals Week: For our students and parents, I have attached the Finals Week calendar to this newsletter. Please review it so that you can plan accordingly.
  • Exemptions: Teachers will be receiving and sharing the exemption forms with students this week. I want to assure you that there have been no changes to the exemption policy.

As we enter this season of gratitude and giving, I encourage all of us to look for opportunities to help those around us. There are many needs within our community, especially at this time of year, and every act of kindness makes a significant difference.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to the school if you have any questions or concerns. We encourage an open dialogue and value your input.

Respectfully,

Adam Anderson
Principal

What's Happening at GHS...

Steers are Area Champs!

Congratulations to our Graham Steers for their win over Lubbock Cooper Liberty on Friday, November 21st. That win made our Steers, Area Champs!

Our Steers battled a tough Midland Greenwood team at Regional Semifinals on November 28th and lost 36-21. I am extremely proud of our student athletes and all the hard work they put in this year.

DECA Volunteers in Wichita Falls

Graham High School DECA members Mallori Buschmann, Haley Escalante, Paisley Bailey, Kelstin Dalton and Teren Yowell along with Wichita Falls ISD DECA members volunteered helping prepare for the Jordan’s Way Fundraiser. The fundraiser is benefiting area Animal Shelters and will be held this Saturday in Wichita Falls. DECA students inflated approximately 2,000 balloons needed for the Jordan's Way fundraiser.

DECA students also heard from Mary Rish, Jordan’s Way Shelter & Rescue Coordinator and content creator. She shared behind-the-scenes tips on hosting events in multiple cities, managing fast-moving logistics, and pursuing meaningful work that aligns with personal purpose. She reminded students that it’s okay to follow your heart into roles outside your collegiate major and that college builds resilience and time-management skills that transfer anywhere.
