Adam Anderson, Principal of Graham High School

Principal's Corner

Hello Parents and Community,

First, I want to express my pride in our tennis team. This past week, they competed in Snyder against Canyon High in the Bi-District round of playoffs. While they did not progress, their hard work and dedication throughout the season are truly commendable. Please join me in thanking Coach Birdwell for his commitment and hard work this fall. I know the team will take the lessons learned and work diligently during the off-season to prepare for a strong spring season.

Looking ahead, we have our annual Homecoming festivities this upcoming week. This is a wonderful tradition that allows our students to celebrate their school spirit and build lasting memories. All the details are located below in this newsletter. Please take a moment to review it so you and your student don't miss out on anything.

I want to emphasize that while this is a week of celebration, learning remains our top priority. My teachers and I will maintain high expectations for academic focus and achievement in every classroom.

Finally, we have two key events this week:
  • PSAT/NMSQT: All Juniors and some of our Sophomores will be taking the PSAT on Tuesday. This test is a valuable tool for college readiness and scholarship qualification, and I know our students will do their best.
  • Region Marching Band Competition: I'd also like to wish the best of luck to our marching band as they head to the Region Marching Band Competition on Saturday. Please wish Mr. Kidd and our talented students good luck as they represent Graham High School.

Thank you for your continued support of Graham High School as we strive to provide excellence in all we do. I look forward to seeing you at the different HOCO events this week.

Respectfully,

Adam Anderson
Principal

Student Food and Drinks

We are adjusting a process that we have had on campus for the last few years based on student and staff feedback. Previously, students were not allowed to bring outside food or drinks on to campus. Starting with the new 9-weeks, students will be allowed to bring their outside drinks and food in to the high school. This means that as students come to school in the morning or Juniors and Seniors are returning from lunch, they can bring their food and drinks inside. This allows students a few extra minutes to eat before class starts. We will monitor and adjust this procedure based on continued feedback from students and staff. Please encourage your student to clean up messes and notify staff of any spills so that we can keep the building safe and clean.

This does not change our process about food delivery or food drop off. Our campus is still closed for food deliveries and we are not accepting outside food dropped off in the front office.
