Adam Anderson, Principal of Graham High School

Principal's Corner

Hello Parents and Community,

I want to communicate with you about some of the key events and situations from this past week.

School Safety Update
On Wednesday, September 24th, we initiated a HOLD protocol. I want to sincerely commend our students and staff for reacting swiftly, calmly, and professionally. The protocol was followed flawlessly, which underscores the effectiveness of our training and the commitment of our entire school community to maintaining a safe environment. We always put the safety of your children first, and I am incredibly proud of how everyone handled the situation.

Building Strong Partnerships
I want to emphasize the critical role of Parent-Teacher Conferences that we will be holding on October 3rd. These meetings are an amazing opportunity to strengthen the support system between home and school, helping us to cultivate an inclusive environment to motivate and facilitate parent partnerships and ensure your child is prepared for success at the next level.

College Fair Success
Our annual College Fair on Friday was a tremendous success! We were fortunate to host representatives from 30 different colleges, universities, and technical schools. It was wonderful to see so many students engaging directly with these institutions, taking a major step forward in planning their futures after high school.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Graham High School. We are committed to equipping all students for excellence in life.

Respectfully,

Adam Anderson
GHS Principal

If you want to meet with your student's teacher and don't see an available time slot, please reach out directly to the teacher to set up a time that works.

We are excited to meet with our parents and build strong relationships.

Homecoming

Homecoming is just around the corner and I want to make sure we provide you with all the information you need!

ACT

The ACT will take place on Tuesday, September 30th

PSAT/SAT Information

Starting in the Spring of 2026, we will be offering the SAT at GHS! We are excited to bring that to our GHS students and families. In an effort to provide all students opportunities to be successful after high school, the PSAT and SAT will be mandatory for all Juniors. In previous years, students were able to opt out. That is changing this year because we want all students to graduate high school ready for college, a career, or the military, and the PSAT and SAT are one way to help prepare all students.

We will be offering the PSAT to all Juniors and the top 10% of the Sophomore class for free, on October 14th.

Yearbook Senior Ads

Dear Senior Parents:

We know you are so proud of your teen’s accomplishments. Tell them how great they are by purchasing a senior ad in the Graham High School yearbook.

Ads are available in a variety of sizes and prices that range in size from 1/4 page to a full page. This tribute might include pictures, a good luck message, congratulatory remark, etc. You may want to refer to a previous yearbook for an idea of what others have done. All ads must be received no later than January 6th, 2026.

Thanks for helping support the GHS yearbook staff, and don’t hesitate to call or e-mail mckenzie.shook@grahamisd.com if you have questions. The yearbook is scheduled to be delivered at the end of May.

Please see the attached Google Doc for additional information.

Culinary Students

TACRAO College Fair

Special thank you to our counselors for organizing our college fair on Friday. We had 30 colleges, universities, and technical schools represented. All of our students had the opportunity to speak with each of the colleges and learn more about the programs they offer and scholarships that help make college affordable.

We also want to give a special shout-out to our culinary students! They took complete ownership of the event's hospitality by planning the menu, cooking, and serving breakfast to all the college representatives. They did a fantastic job, demonstrating their classroom skills in a real-world, professional setting.

Athletic Updates

We must celebrate a fantastic win for our Varsity Football team! They defeated Lake Worth with a score of 35-10. Congratulations to the players and coaches on a well-deserved victory! Next week is a bye week as we prepare for District games.

We had a fantastic Volleyball Senior Night on Tuesday. It was a privilege to celebrate our senior girls for their hard work and the legacy they have built within the program. We are thrilled to report that the team played an outstanding game, winning their senior night match in four sets!

Our Tennis team has a big week ahead. If they win their upcoming match, they will advance to the Bi-District round, which is a wonderful accomplishment for our student-athletes.

Pink Out Pep Rally

Our "Pink Out" Pep Rally on Friday was a vibrant and meaningful event. The energy was incredible, and we were especially grateful to hear from a breast cancer survivor from our own community. I found her story of perseverance and faith to be truly uplifting and inspiring.

Thank you to our community, teachers, and students for "Pinking Out" at the pep rally. Special thanks goes out to Woodland Elementary for joining us and bring so much energy and spirit!

Congratulations to Mrs. Stansell for being awarded the Steers Super Fan Award by Dr. Johnston!
