Principal's Corner

Hello GHS Parents and Community,

This past week we have seen some wonderful things on campus and students have had wonderful experiences.

We had an incredibly successful week in our athletic programs. Our football team secured a decisive 35-7 victory against Whitesboro, and our volleyball team won their match against Legacy in three sets. Congratulations to all our student-athletes and coaches for their hard work and dedication. Thank you to our student section and Blue Crew for showing up and getting loud in support of our football team.

The "Disney Day" themed pep rally on Friday was a huge success. We were so excited to welcome students from Crestview Elementary, who were a wonderful addition to the event. The energy and school spirit were truly impressive, and I want to thank all our students and staff who participated by dressing up. It was a great example of the unified school community we are building here at GHS.

I also want to address the issue some parents and community members experienced with the check-in process at the pep rally. I understand that many who pre-registered did not have a badge printed, which caused a delay and frustration. We are actively working with our technology department to resolve this issue and ensure it is fixed for our next pep rally. Your ability to attend and participate in school events is important to us, and we are committed to providing a seamless experience for all our stakeholders while maintaining school safety.

Thank you for your continued support of Graham High School.

Respectfully,
Adam Anderson
Principal, Graham High School

ACT Test Information

Students and parents, we offer the ACT test at GHS during school once in fall and once in the spring. Our fall online administration will take place on Tuesday, September 30th. We are taking sign ups for the fall administration now through Wednesday, September 16th. The link for the students to sign up is in their google classroom. The cost is $39 cash or check (made out to GHS) due by Wednesday, September 24th. If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount as we don't have change on hand.

Online payments are now accepted through this link: ACT Online Payment. There should be a location to put your student's name so that we can easily find them. If you have any issues please let us know and we will help you. Please note that because it is online, the final cost is more due to online fees.

A senior who has NOT taken the ACT at GHS before, can get the fee waived by checking with the counseling office.

Beginning this spring we will offer the in school SAT, as well. This will provide additional opportunities for our students to take part in other college placement exams this school year.

PSAT/SAT Information

Starting in the Spring of 2026, we will be offering the SAT at GHS! We are excited to bring that to our GHS students and families. In an effort to provide all students opportunities to be successful after high school, the PSAT and SAT will be mandatory for all Juniors. In previous years, students were able to opt out. That is changing this year because we want all students to graduate high school ready for college, a career, or the military, and the PSAT and SAT are one way to help prepare all students.

Attendance Notes

I wanted to make you aware of two updates this year that are being implemented. First, parent notes will only be accepted for two weeks after the absence occurred. After that, they will not be accepted and the absence will stay unexcused. This only applies to parent notes, not notes from doctors. Doctors notes will be accepted at anytime during the year, but the sooner we get them the better.

Second, GHS is no longer accepting doctors notes online, unless they are emailed directly to attendance from the doctor's office. Otherwise, doctors notes will need to be turned in physically. Please reach out to the attendance office with any questions or concerns you may have.

Yearbooks Available Now!

The 2025-2026 GHS yearbooks are now available to purchase online. The yearbooks will be sold at their lowest price of $80 until November 1st, 2025. All purchases can be made online at yearbookforever.com and the yearbooks will be distributed in May.

Yearbook Senior Ads

Dear Senior Parents:

We know you are so proud of your teen’s accomplishments. Tell them how great they are by purchasing a senior ad in the Graham High School yearbook.

Ads are available in a variety of sizes and prices that range in size from 1/4 page to a full page. This tribute might include pictures, a good luck message, congratulatory remark, etc. You may want to refer to a previous yearbook for an idea of what others have done. All ads must be received no later than January 6th, 2026.

Thanks for helping support the GHS yearbook staff, and don’t hesitate to call or e-mail mckenzie.shook@grahamisd.com if you have questions. The yearbook is scheduled to be delivered at the end of May.

Please see the attached Google Doc for additional information.
