Athletic Trainer/Assistant Athletic Director

Graham ISD Athletic trainers help prevent and treat injuries for all of the student athletes of GISD. Recognized by the American Medical Association as allied health professionals, GISD athletic trainers specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. GISD Athletic trainers are often one of the first heath care providers on the scene when injuries occur, and therefore are able to recognize, evaluate, and assess injuries and provide immediate care when needed. GISD athletic trainers also are heavily involved in the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries.

GISD athletic trainers often help prevent injuries by advising on the proper use of equipment and applying protective or injury-preventive devices such as tape, bandages, and braces. Injury prevention also often includes educating people on what they should do to avoid putting themselves at risk for injuries.  During the school year the athletic training rooms will open at 7 am every school day.  Injured athletes should come in at that time for evaluation and rehabiliation.

Any student who participates in a sport or cheerleading from grades 7 - 12 must complete the online registration through Rank One Sport prior to their first workout.  This can be found at Rank One.
