Civil Engineering and Architecture

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Civil Engineering and Architecture (CEA) is a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) specialization course at Graham High School. CEA is the study of the design and construction of residential and commercial building projects. The course includes an introduction to many of the varied factors involved in building design and construction including building components and systems, structural design, storm water management, site design, utilities and services, cost estimation, energy efficiency, and careers in the design and construction industry. 

 

PROGRAM GOALS:

Students that complete the project-based curriculum will:

  • Understand technology as a tool for problem solving
  • Understand the design process, problem solving, and the application of technology in engineering.
  • Use mathematical principles to find solutions to design situations
  • Develop a teamwork environment
