Graham High School retains control, custody and supervision of all MacBook Airs, networks, and Internet services owned or leased by Graham High School. Graham High School reserves the right to monitor all activity by students.       No expectation of privacy in their use of school computers including e-mail, stored files or Internet sites visited should be assumed by the student-users. All users need to be aware Graham High School has the ability to monitor Internet usage. Using computers to visit sites that are inappropriate under our Code of Conduct and that do not meet the educational purposes of the program may result in revocation of privileges. Authorized members of our Technology Department may periodically review material stored on the hard drives. Never put anything in an email or on a hard drive that would be embarrassing, inappropriate or illegal. The following disciplinary steps will be taken by administration when a student is found in violation of the acceptable use policy in place.

Step 1:

Student will have their laptop taken by administration. The laptop will be reimaged and the student charged $25.00 to re-gain the laptop.

Step 2:

The student will be held accountable to the following disciplinary consequences.

Step 3:

A phone call will be placed, notifying the students parent / guardian that the student has used their computer in an inappropriate matter.

Examples of Inappropriate Computer use: This list is provided as an example. The students should use laptops for sound educational purposes and not to participate or view vulgar, lewd, or illegal websites, emails, or media / communication outlets. This list is not a complete list of prohibited conduct.

  • Lewd or vulgar websites, emails, chat, searches, or other content
  • Any content of a pornographic nature
  • Any content that requires parental advisory
  • Internet searches that contain inappropriate content, language, or use
  • Downloading of prohibited content
  • Use of the computer to disrupt class
  • Continual misuse of the laptop while in class

The student is a first time offender.

The student used their computer in an inappropriate manner.

Student’s laptop will be taken by GHS technology department to be reimaged.

Student will be charged $25.00 to regain usage of their laptop.

Student will not be allowed to take their computer away from GHS for 10 school days.

** Students who have Liquid damage to their Laptop will not be allowed to take their laptop away from GHS for 10 school days. 

While the computer is reimaged the student will not be issued a loaner.

It is the students’ responsibility to check out / check in their computer in the morning and return it each afternoon. Failure to do so will result in ISS.

The student is a second time offender.

The student used the computer in an inappropriate manner.

Student’s laptop will be taken by GHS technology department to be reimaged

Student will be charged $25.00 to regain usage of their laptop.

Student will not be allowed to take their computer away from GHS for 15 school days.

While the computer is reimaged the student will not be issued a loaner.

It is the students’ responsibility to check out / check in their computer in the morning and return it each afternoon. Failure to do so will result in ISS.

The student is a third time offender.

The student used the computer in an inappropriate manner.

Student’s laptop will be taken by GHS Technology department to be reimaged.

Student will be charged $25.00 to regain usage of their laptop.

Student will not be allowed to take their computer away from GHS for 30 school days.

While the computer is reimaged the student will not be issued a loaner.

It is the students’ responsibility to check out / check in their computer in the morning and return it each afternoon. Failure to do so will result in ISS.

The student is a fourth time offender.

The student used the computer in an inappropriate manner.

Student’s laptop will be taken by GHS Technology department to be reimaged.

Student will be charged $25.00 to regain usage of their laptop.

Student will not be allowed to take their computer away from GHS for the remainder of the school year.

While the computer is reimaged the student will not be issued a loaner.

The student will be issued DAEP according to district policy.

The student will not be allowed any laptop use while in DAEP.
